BULGARIA: Prepare for 2012!

Bulgarian broadcaster, BNT has announced the search for songs to compete in its national selection.

In Bulgarian national selection, will have two semi-finals.
The winner will decided by juries and televoting.
In anticipation of the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest, broadcaster BNT has announced plans for its national selection, hoping that whoever wins the competition can bring Bulgaria glory in Baku.

BNT has called for songs to be submitted for the national selection, with an emphasis on the songs being a product of Bulgaria, i.e. the lyrics, music and arrangement should be by a Bulgarian national. The window for entries being submitted will open on the 9th of September and close on the 11th of November. In order to choose who gets to participate in the selection, a professional jury of 20 to 35 members will be invited by BNT to listen to all the songs. In the first instance 60 entries will be chosen and their details made public on the 16th of November. However, only 30 entries will be admitted to the semi-finals so a further whittling down by the juries is required. On the 25th of November, a definitive list of 30 songs will be released.

Songs will be distributed into semi-finals by lot, with 15 competing in each. These will then perform live at the semi-finals on the 12th and 14th of December in Hall 3 of the National Palace of Culture in Sofia. 6 songs from each semi-final will qualify to the final with a mixture of jury voting and televoting.

The final is to be held on the 28th of January 2012 in Hall 1 of the National Palace of Culture in Sofia where the twelve qualified entries will perform for the chance to represent Bulgaria in Baku in May. The winning entry will be chosen through a mixture of jury and televotes.
