NETHERLANDS: David Hasselhoff to Eurovision 2012?

The news that David Hasselhoff, the former Knight Rider and Baywatch star, might participate in the national selection of the Netherlands, created a lot of buzz in the social media website, Twitter.

The 59-year-old American star is said to take part together with a female vocalist who would join him on stage. Their song might be written by Niall Mooney who was also behind the 2009 and 2010 Irish entries.
Hasselhoff has had some success in the European music market with two number one hits in 1989 in Germany and has enjoyed popularity in the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest host country. Just this year, he's been touring there as well as Switzerland and Austria.
The actor and singer has been involved with talent shows the past years. He was the first celebrity eliminated from the eleventh season of Dancing with the Stars in 2010.
He was also a judge on NBC's America's Got Talent from 2006 to 2009 and in 2011, he joined the Britain's Got Talent judging panel, alongside Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden and Michael McIntyre.
